The New Orleans Photo Alliance is a vibrant, ever-growing community of photographers and photo enthusiasts in New Orleans and across the Gulf South. Our programs include photography exhibitions, workshops, community photography projects, educational programs, and artists talks throughout the community showcasing the art and science of creating images.

The Photo Alliance is proud to offer cash awards totaling $10,000 each year to individual photographers. The Michael P. Smith Fund for Documentary Photography supports long-term documentary photography projects created by Gulf Coast photographers and the Clarence John Laughlin Award for Fine Art Photography supports the work of fine art photographers.

PhotoNOLA, the annual festival of photography, is produced by the Photo Alliance each December. Now in its 12th year, PhotoNOLA includes dozens of programs in museums galleries across the city and features 50+ exhibitions along with gallery talks, panels, film screenings, and parties. For regional photographers and fans, NOPA produces UnderExposed, a day-long celebration of regional photography. In 2017, UnderExposed will bring 75+ photographers together to share their work with the public and each other at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old US Mint on August 27.

The New Orleans Photo Alliance is an artist-led organization supported primarily by its members. Memberships start at just $20 and include discounts on workshops, entry fees, and special member-only events. To join and learn more about our programs, visit www.neworleansphotoalliance.org.
