The National Performance Network & Visual Artists Network aims to foster a more just and equitable arts presenting field (artists and people/organizations facilitating the sharing of artwork with the public) by amplifying the voices of artists from diverse backgrounds; ensuring communities have access to live, experiential exchange with artists and arts organizations; and supporting a network of arts presenters committed to artist- and community-centered practices rooted in justice.
Did you know that NPNVAN is the only national arts service organization in Louisiana?
NPNVAN envisions a world in which:
- Artists are recognized as valid and necessary participants in a healthy and just society, and have power and resources to flourish both creatively and professionally;
- All individuals and organizations in our sector have the skills, resources, and opportunities to thrive and lead change;
- A strong network maximizes the collective wisdom, resources, and leadership of the participants and promotes collaboration based on authentic connections and shared values;
- Communities (as collections of people who share cultural heritages, philosophies, or geographic locations) have broad access to artistic work and cultural expression that are reflective of themselves and others;
- Cultural infrastructure reflects deeper partnerships; practices greater racial, cultural, and geographic equity; and embraces alternative systems of philanthropy, organizing, and policy-making.
